Lots of students have been completing their Term 3 requirements this weekend. Thank you for taking care of this and taking ownership of your achievement in the bands!
Here’s what we have on the go this week…
1.) Band Classes in A & B Block
Monday – Band 9 in A Block.
Tuesday – Band 10 in A Block, Band 11/12 in B Block.
Wednesday – Band 9 in A Block.
Thursday – Band 10 in A Block, Band 11/12 in B Block.
Friday – Band 9 in A Block.
Band 9 and Band 10 Practice Cards – Turn in Week #30 for marking. Continue recording for Week #31.
2.) Morning, Lunch, After School Rehearsals + Evening Events
Monday – MARCHING BAND AT 7:15AM (Sr. Jazz Cancelled), Sr. R&B Band (Auditions) at Lunch, Drumline & Requirement Completion After School until 5:00pm.
Tuesday — Jr. Jazz Band at 7:15am, Tour Band Rehearsal at Lunch (All Grade 9-12 students traveling to Edmonton please attend.), Extra Help available after school until 4:45pm.
Wednesday – Sr. Jazz Band at 7:15am,Tour Band Rehearsal at Lunch, Sr. R&B Band and Drumline after school.
Thursday – Jr. Jazz Band at 7:15am, Tour Band Rehearsal at Lunch, Jr. R&B Band after school. Edmonton Tour Information Meeting at 7:00pm in the school theatre.
Friday – Final Tour Band Rehearsal at 7:15am, Music Council at Lunch, Drumline & Jr. and Sr. R&B Bands CANCELLED. Tour Loading Crew – Packing and Organizing: 1:15pm to 3:45pm.
3.) Band 9 & 10 Term 3 Requirements Due Monday
Term 3 Requirements for Band 9 and Band 10 are due TOMORROW Monday, April 9th by 5pm. See me tomorrow in C Block, D Block, or after school (until 5pm) if you need to complete your requirements. 🙂
Remember that you have the opportunity to perform in front of their peers in class OR perform them when I am not teaching. Students can also record their studies (memorized scales must be performed LIVE) on a phone or camera and email them to me for marking/feedback.
4.) Band Tour Updates
Thank you to everyone that turned in their final payments and re-imbursement requests last week!

Reminder: Travel Meeting Date Change – Thursday, April 12th – 7pm, Theatre
There will be a Travel Information Meeting on Thursday April 12th at 7pm in the theatre. I ask that ALL traveling students and a least one parent attend. Please note the date change (April 11th conflicted with the Arbutus Year End Concert).
5.) Blue Band Performs on Saturday, April 14th!
Blue Band (Sr. Concert Band in full uniform) – as discussed before Spring break, we perform for the Lakehill Little League Opening Ceremonies (their 60th Anniversary Season) on Saturday, April 14th. Call time is 10:30am. A student set-up crew and parent help to transport gear to and from the school is needed. Please let me know if you are able to assist with this. A running order will be handed out in rehearsal on Tuesday AM. 🙂
