Choir and Strings Updates!

Firstly, congratulations to Reynolds Vocal Jazz for winning the Gardiner Shield Award for Outstanding Choral Performance by a secondary choir at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival! They were also asked to perform at the Choral Highlights concert this coming Thursday…tbd if we can make it work while I am away!

Please note that I am away this week with the Band Tour in Edmonton, however I have brought some great teachers in to work with you while I am away. Please come to class on time and ready to work, numbers will be down in some classes but you can still get rehearsal time in-attendance will be taken!


Lunch, 11:17-12:12 – Vocal Jazz: Please meet with Fiona in the Band room to discuss a plan for a possible Thursday performance. Sectionals will be very important this week, use your tracks online and get some work done! Only a few weeks until our Stage truck performance in May!


7:15am-8:20am CONCERT CHOIR– Anyone not on the trip, choir will be meeting this week with some great teachers! Please be on time and ready to work on new music! Again this group is EVERYONE that is not in Chamber Choir this term, please adjust your schedules accordingly.

11:17-12:12- Vocal Jazz – Sectionals on Shiny Stockings and Blame It On My Youth- get your notes down, use your tracks!

3:20-3:45- Chamber Choir– You will be rehearsing with Sean Quicke, he is fantastic, be on time and ready to work on new music!


7:15-8:20am- Strings– You will be working on your festival music with Mrs. Mcdonell! Be on time and ready to work, our festival is next week!!

3:20-4:30- CONCERT CHOIR– Working on new music with Mr. Quicke, he is a lot of fun, so show up and do some part learning with him!


7:15-8:20- Chamber Choir working with Mrs. Mcdonell in the morning on new music, show up and get things done. Attendance will be taken!

3:20-4:45- Strings– Mr. Quicke will be here to work with you in room 143, make sure you feel confident on your festival tunes for next week!

*possible performance at 7pm at the First Met Church by Reynolds Vocal Jazz as part of the GVPAF Highlights Concert. We would perform your set from festival last week and wear your all black with a pop of colour. If we don’t have enough people, 2 representatives will attend to accept the award on our behalf. See Fiona for details or to communicate with me.

Please help out the teachers filling in for myself and Mr. Davis this week. Be kind, be punctual and be responsible! Have a great week, I will miss rehearsing with you this week!
