On behalf of all members of the Reynolds Music Parents Association (RMPA) Executive, I’d like to welcome you to a new year of the Reynolds Music Program.
My name is Tracy Byrne and I’m very pleased to be sharing the role of RMPA President for the 2018-2019 year with Sherrie Hutchinson. Sherrie and I both have students in Grades 11 and 9, all of whom are involved in many of the numerous ensembles led by our wonderful music directors, Jamie Davis and Katy Kerr.
The RMPA Executive for 2018-19 is comprised of the following parent volunteers:
- Co-presidents – Tracy Byrne and Sherrie Hutchinson
- Treasurer – Andrea Lauzon
- Secretary – Tara Nargang
We can be contacted at: firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to the Executive, many other parents and family members volunteer with the RMPA, managing all sorts of activities and fundraisers. We encourage all parents/family members to get involved in any way they can. If you’re interested in helping out, please let us know by emailing email@example.com, or by coming out to one of our monthly meetings. Our next one is on Thursday October 11 at 7:00 pm. (More info about that coming soon!)
Last Tuesday (September 11), we held a fun and informative welcome BBQ and AGM. It was wonderful to see so many family members and music students at this event. Thank you to all of you who attended and to those who added their names to the volunteer lists and/or stepped up to lead one of our regular fundraisers.
On which subject, we have two important events coming up on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 September:
- Reynolds Music Uniform Distribution; and
- Cops for Cancer Bottle Drive.
Both events need your participation. See below for all the details!
Warm regards, Tracy Byrne

Reynolds Music Cops for Cancer Bottle Drive
In a couple of weeks, Reynolds Music Program is once again running the Cops for Cancer Bottle Drive, which is our program’s biggest contribution to the Reynolds Secondary Cops for Cancer Fundraising Campaign.
Last year, our community raised nearly $2000 for the Tour de Rock in 5 hours. This year’s event is taking place on “Saturday, September 29, from 8:30am – 2:30pm* and is student led, but we will also need a few parents to supervise each shift. Parents and students, please click on the following web link (or copy into your browser if clicking doesn’t work) to go to the signup sheet: https://www.volunteersignup.org/MAPAD
To sign up, just follow the instructions on the page. It only takes a few seconds to do! If you can’t make it to the school to help sort and count, we appreciate you
bringing your empties for deposit (and your friends’ family’s and neighbours’ empties too!!) down to this important fundraiser. Let’s try and beat last year’s total!
I’m looking forward to working with students and parents to raise as much as possible towards this year’s Reynolds Cops for Cancer total!
Thanks, Tracy Laramee
