2.) Morning, Lunch, After School Rehearsals
Monday – Blue Band Rehearsal at 7:15am. Pit Band set-up in the Theatre at Lunch. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!. Pit Orchestra rehearsal after school 3:15pm – 5pm.
Tuesday – Junior Jazz Band (Green Team *see below) at 7:15am. Intermediate Jazz Band at Lunch. No after school rehearsals (staff meeting).
Wednesday – Senior Jazz Band at 7:15am. Junior Jazz Band at Lunch. Drumline rehearsal 3:15pm – 4:45pm.
Thursday – Intermediate Jazz Band at 7:15am. Senior Jazz Band at Lunch. Pit Orchestra rehearsal 3:15pm – 5:45pm (Act 2 Run – in the pit with cast)
Friday – None. Pro-D Day
Saturday – None.
Sunday – Pit Orchestra Rehearsal from 1:30pm – 4pm
3.) Jr. Jazz Band / Jr. Choir – Tuesday Mornings
We have revised the “splits” for Tuesday morning jazz band and choir rehearsals. Please note whether you are on the “green team” or the “blue team.”
Blue Team: Sara, Kiara, Finlay, Tatiana, Erica, Madea
Green Team: Zamira, Ella, Thomas, Sadie, Elliott
THIS WEEK: Green Team to Jazz Band / Blue Team to Choir. 🙂
4.) Low Brass Workshop – Thursday, Feb. 13th at 1:00pm
Our Euphonium, Tuba, and Trombone students will have the opportunity for a workshop with Dr. Scott Watson on Thursday, February 13th from 1pm-2:30pm in our band room. Scott is the low-brass professor at the University of Kansas!
You have been excused from classes at 12:55pm. Please be proactive in getting any homework, notes, etc. that you might miss AHEAD of time.
Professor Watson is known throughout North America as a master teacher, having legions of former students holding major positions in the top military bands, college-university positions, and prestigious public school positions across the country. Scott was elected and served as President of the International Tuba Euphonium Association from 1999-2001 and currently serves on their Board of Directors as Past President. As Professor of Tuba-Euphonium at the University of Kansas he is an acclaimed soloist, clinician, and chamber musician.
5.) Pit Orchestra Reminders/Update
Thank you for your hard work in rehearsals! Please take note of the upcoming major rehearsals and performances (now finalized).
These rehearsals and performances are MANDATORY. The show runs for six evening performances. The call time for evening performances is 6:00pm – be seated in the pit, ready to tune and run any numbers that are required. All evening performances start at 7:30pm
Mon. Feb. 17 – Family Day Rehearsal (12pm – 6pm)
Sun. Feb. 23 – Marathon Rehearsal (12pm – 8pm)
Mon. Feb. 24 – Dress Rehearsal #1 (3:25pm – 7pm)
Wed. Feb. 26 – Dress Rehearsal #2 (2pm – 7pm)
Thurs. Feb. 27 – Performance #1 (6pm call time, 7:30pm start)
Fri. Feb. 28 – Performance #2 (6pm call time, 7:30pm start)
Sat. Feb. 29 – Performance #3 (6pm call time, 7:30pm start)
Wed. March 4 – Mid-Run Rehearsal (3:25pm – 6:30pm)
Thurs. March 5 – Performance #4 & Alumni Night (6pm call time, 7:30pm start)

Please be fully aware that we will be rehearsing on Family Day on February 17th (12pm – 6pm) Parents are asked not to take students away from rehearsals for vacations from January 6 to March 7, 2020.
Please cancel the following: The Feb. 14th rehearsal has been CANCELLED (We are WAY ahead of the game and don’t need it – Bravo!) The March 1st matinee show has now been CANCELLED.
Parents – Help Needed: Help is needed feeding students on show nights during the intermission. There are over 80 hungry cast, crew and pit band participants – please help us make sure they are fed well during the intermission each night!

Musical Theatre T-Shirts are now available for order If you are ordering I need to know shirt sizes no later than TOMORROW. Sorry for the short notice. Thank you to Serena Lam and Andrea de Lange for all of their work on these! Cost = $20 each (cheques can be made payable to Reynolds Secondary School)
Pit Band Uniform: All black shirt, pants and shoes (Please NO sweat-pants, t-shirts with logos, etc) AND fun socks! These items are all provided by students. Please let me know if you have a financial situation that is prohibitive.
6.) CONFIRMED: Senior Jazz Band Performance – GNS Jazz Night – Tuesday February, 18th
Thank you to everyone that got back to me so quickly last week! It’s a go! Sr. Jazz Band will perform at the Glenlyon Notfolk School Jazz Night on Tuesday, February 18th. The show starts at 7:00pm and will feature performances from 2 GNS jazz bands and our senior jazz band. It’s a low-pressure music sharing event! All parents and students are welcome to attend.
What’s the Reynolds Band connection? Mr.Thompson – the GNS Band Director – is a Reynolds BAND GRAD (from Mr. Wilson’s years)!
Call Time: 6:00pm (at the GNS Middle/Senior School campus – 801 Bank Street).
Start Time: 7:00pm (please be prepared to stay until the end of the show to assist with tear-down, and support the GNS Sr. Jazz Band
Uniforms: This is a full uniform show. No uniform issues please. Make sure you have long whi… err… BLACK socks. Black spray paint (aka “Liquid Band Socks”) will be on hand for “offenders.”
Extra Rehearsal: We will rehearse on Tuesday, Feb. 18th at lunch (Vocal Jazz is cancelled). Our Wednesday (Feb 19th) rehearsal will be cancelled.
