Band This Week: Nov. 2-6, Blue Band Recording on Wednesday

Hi All,

Sorry about last week – I was super sick (no, not COVID sick) and stayed home to do my part. Thanks for your email, text, and DM check ins and thanks to Mr. Jacklin for looking after my gig while I was away.

BLUE BAND we will record on Wednesday this week. Please make sure uniforms are in order!

1.) AB Classes This Week

Friday = Band 9 at 9:00am

Reminders:

*EVERYONE assists with tear-down at the end of B Block (the last class before lunch). Place your chair on the racks at the front of the theatre. Place your music stand on the racks at the side of the theatre. Percussionists will spray their equipment down, then roll/move everything out into the hallway (yellow signs mark where large instruments should go). WASH or SANITIZE your hands when you are dismissed.

I will NOT be posting daily schedules on Instagram anymore. I think we’ve got the hang of this now!

2.) Before School, Lunch, and After School Rehearsals

**Set-up help is needed every day before school at 7:00am in the theatre. Thanks for considering!

Tuesday: Junior Jazz Band at 7:30am, Extra Help (by appointment) at Lunch, Extra Help (by appointment) after school.

3.) Blue Band Remembrance Day Recordings

Blue Band will record anthems, hymns, and musical selections to support Reynolds’ Remembrance Day observance (videos) and the Saanich Municipal Hall observance (very important to continue our connection to Saanich hall in these strange days) on Wednesday, November 4th in the gym. Total time needed: Approximately 1 hour.

Please be in the gym fro 7:30am IN UNIFORM ready to warm-up and tune. Do not be late. Plan your travel to school out accordingly.

FULL UNIFORMS, PLEASE including clean and ironed white shirt, white pants, and white socks. If something has gone missing – I need to know immediately. Please take care of this! Last minute requests are becoming problematic these days with my schedule AND room set-up/tear-down routines.

Recording order:

O’Canada

Eternal Father, Strong to Save

Hymns: 8, 9

God Save The Queen

Invercargill (wth roll-off)

**Please make sure you are familiar with the material and the keys they are played in (PLEASE look at “Oh God Our Help, In Ages Past” = SKETCHY KEY ALERT!!!!)

Thank you for doing this! See you on Wednesday 💙

4.) UNIFORM PICK UP

Band uniforms can be picked up from the Band Room during CD block, and at lunch. Please make sure you try your blazer on before Wednesday’s recording session.

Thank you to Cheryl, Laura, and Vicky for their help in getting uniforms prepped and ready & to everyone that used the contactless sizing form!

Thank you!
