Choir/Musical/String Updates for November 23-27

Thank you for a great start up in Term 2, a lot of great music making happening to prepare for our Winter Concert Selections! Please keep attending regularly and PUT IN SOME PRACTICE TIME. I know this year feels a lot different but you still have to put in time and effort to your music commitments – show up on time and be prepared:) We are privileged that we can make music together safely at this time, so let’s have fun and make the most of it!

Thank you to Mr. Davis and all the students that helped out with the Bottle Drive on Saturday to raise money for our Music Program – you are amazing! Thank to everyone that donated as well, it is so appreciated!

Reminders for TERM 2:

  • Choir/Strings/Musical/Vocal Jazz rehearsals are ALL BACK BAND ROOM TO ACCOMMODATE OUR SENIOR BAND

  • All outside timetable classes are exactly the same timings, so please be on time and prepared

  • Masks are required for ALL outside the timetable classes as well as in hallway areas

  • When you do not have class please go home if you are able and wear masks out in the Community

  • Dress warmly, it is cold out now and we have to have open windows and doors for ventilation

  • ANYONE IN DANCE will follow our rotation schedule as discussed with you Dance teacher

Monday, November 23:

7:30-8:30AM VOCAL JAZZ, MOVED TO LUNCH SECTIONALS THIS WEEK
3:00-4:30PM MUSICAL THEATRE, Kanika fixing up a few sections from last week – but REVIEW IS REQUIRED using the videos on Google Classroom. Please have your costume bags and HAVE ALL costume pieces for “Just One Day” which will be filmed on December 3rd. PRACTICE AND REVIEW IS REQUIRED FOR THE WINTER SHOWCASE. YOU MUST CHECK GOOGLE CLASSROOM FOR FULL DETAILS ON COSTUMES AND REVIEW.

Tuesday, November 24:

7:30-8:30AM SENIOR CHOIR, in the BAND ROOM, we will be working on our Winter music preparing for our next performances, so please be on time and prepared with your music!
11:30-12:15 VOCAL JAZZ, Sectionals for BOTH SOPRANOS AND ALTOS, please meet in the BAND ROOM and BRING A QUICK LUNCH:) YOU MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE (unless you are sick).
3:00-4:15PM JUNIOR CHOIR, in the BAND ROOM, we will be working on our Winter music preparing for our next performances, so please be on time and prepared with your music!

 

Wednesday, November 25:

7:30-8:30AM JUNIOR CHOIR, in the BAND ROOM, we will be working on our Winter music preparing for our next performances, so please be on time and prepared with your music! IF YOU ARE STARTING DANCE THIS WEEK, PLEASE ATTEND DANCE CLASS IN THE GYM, a rotation schedule was made with your dance teacher.
3:00-4:15 SENIOR CHOIR, in the BAND ROOM, we will be working on our Winter music preparing for our next performances, so please be on time and prepared with your music!

 

Thursday, November 26:

7:30-8:30 AM STRINGS, in BAND ROOM, working on new music, working on some technique and preparing for our next performance

3:00-4:30PM MUSICAL THEATRE, We will be doing a full run through of “Just One Day” with the Pit Band. Stay tuned on GOOGLE CLASSROOM for DETAILS. Be memorized and ALL COSTUME PIECES READY!

 

Friday, November 27:

1:00-2:00 VOCAL JAZZ REHEARSAL WITH FULL RHYTHM SECTION IN THE BAND ROOM- working on our Winter Performance tunes East of the Sun, Christmas in LA and What About Us – have all solo lines ready to try out!
12:45-2:00 MUSICAL CREW – MEET IN ROOM 143 TO FINISH PROPS FOR WINTER SHOWCASE AND GO OVER EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE PREPARED FOR THE NEXT WEEK DURING OUR DRESS REHEARSAL AND RECORDING. All hands on deck to finish up props going in to next week. If you can stay a bit longer to finish things up, please do! We need to finish the kitchen Island and make foam food to glue to serving trays and finish up painting the hourglass and perfect any props that are not fully finished – puppets etc.
