Choir/String/ Musical Updates for Nov. 5

Choir/String/ Musical Updates for Nov. 5

Hello everyone,

Get ready for a busy next few weeks, especially in the Choir world! We have a lot of performances coming up, so please make sure you are at ALL rehearsals and are practicing on your own time in order to feel prepared. There are some very important rehearsal changes this week in order to rehearse as a mass choir with our accompanist and cellist before Remembrance Day, so please plan accordingly for these changes and make every effort to be there.

Choir students that are going on the Comox trip– please make sure all of your forms are in to me by TOMORROW, Nov. 5. I have to send in food request orders so I need everything right away. If you can’t find me, leave it in my box across from the office. Final payments are due by Thursday Nov. 8, but please get them in as soon as you can. This is going to be a great trip!

MASS CHOIR REHEARSAL Nov. 6 – for BOTH Junior and Senior Choir students (only excuse is if you are doing set up crew for Mr. Davis). This rehearsal will be over at 4 pm by the latest, so get there right after school. I know it is the band concert that evening so we will rehearse Flanders Fields a couple of times all together, do a standing arrangement and you will all be sent home by 4. This is our one opportunity to all get together before our performance. Junior Choir will still rehearse in the morning but we will meet at 7:35am instead of 7:15am to make up for the extra time I am asking you to give after school. Please have In Flanders Fields memorized for the performance and be prepared to wear your all black uniform (provided by you) and blue tie and scarf for Friday’s Remembrance Day performance, please look tidy and professional. I will be handing out ties and scarves to anyone who still needs them on Tuesday after school. If you still need to make a payment, bring $20 for the scarf or tie and I’ll check you off my list.

Strings– because almost all of you will be performing at the band concert the night before, I will be cancelling our rehearsal on Wednesday morning – enjoy a morning off and I’ll see you at lunch on Thursday! Get some sleep:)

Here are your Updates for the Week, all laid out:

Monday:

Vocal Jazz 11:17-12:12 in the Choir Annex

Musical Theatre 3:25-5:00 in the Theatre. I’ll be taking more groups out to work on music and Kanika will be here all week to go over dancing in Sunday Morning Fever – review and finish choreo, then we will start blocking!

Musical Parents Information Meeting 7-7:30. We will be discussing some volunteer positions we need filled this year in order to make the show run. The biggest one will be our Silent Auction fundraiser that we do every year, but we need parents to help with costumes, hair, makeup, distributing posters, helping with concession. We can’t do these productions without parent support, please come out and see where you might be able to help out! Thank you for your continued support!

Tuesday:

Junior Choir 7:35-8:20…be ON TIME, this is an adjusted schedule so that we can all meet after school for a mass rehearsal for the Remembrance Day Assembly. We have our Festival NEXT WEEK so we have to keep rehearsing for that as well, so be there and do your homework!
