Choir/String/Musical Updates for October 21st-24

Choir/String/Musical Updates for October 21st-24

Hello all,

Sorry for the lateness of my weekly updates, but I just got back into town this morning. What a fun and amazing weekend we had, thank you so much to those that volunteered their time and efforts to come out and make/distribute 600 Apple Pies. It was a lot of hard work and a lot of fun and I am so proud of the team work show by all of our Reynolds Music students!

The Real Group Concert was so fantastic this weekend as well, I hope you are as inspired as I am to come back and work on Vocal Music. Thanks to all of our amazing students that came out to support these outstanding artists, you don’t see/hear a group like that every day, wow!

We have 4 Students representing Reynolds at BCMEA this week, congratulations to Alex, Sarah, Bella and Millie, we are so proud of you and I hope you have an amazing experience this week. I will also be away for BCMEA and as such there WILL BE CHANGES TO THE SCHEDULE THIS WEEK, so please double check dates and times here:)

Halloween Movie Night – from the Reynolds Music Council

Reynolds Music will be having a Halloween Movie Night on Thursday, October 24th starting at 6pm. We will be watching Beetlejuice. Bring your sleeping bags, blankets and pillows as well as a snack/drink to share!  Come dressed up in your costumes! There will be a prize for the best one!

Hillside Night of Lights – November 17

Opportunity for students:
We have tickets available for students to sell for the Hillside Night of Lights on November 17. At the event, thousands of shoppers descend on Hillside Mall for great deals, incredible prizes to be won, and to get a jump start on their Christmas shopping. Tickets to this event are a great way for students to earn funds – they sell for $5 and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of each ticket goes to that student’s music account.
Tickets will be available starting this week, in packs of 5 from Mr. Davis and Ms. Kerr. It works pretty simply: students sell the tickets, and bring the money generated and any unsold tickets back to Mr. Davis and/or Ms. Kerr. Money for tickets sold will be deposited into their student account.  More information will be available on the website this week: http://reynoldsmusic.ca/fundraising/
Opportunity for the RMPA:
We are once again staffing the cost check for this event, so will be looking for 8 volunteers to staff shifts the night of the event. The shifts are a couple of hours and a fun way to promote Reynolds Music Program. Hillside generously provides the RMPA an honourarium for this service, so anyone interested in helping out, please email tracylaramee@gmail.com for details. Students are welcome to participate – those hours can go towards any accumulating volunteer hours.
