Choir/Strings and Musical Theatre Updates for Feb 18-23

Hello everyone,

Thanks for a great week of rehearsals! Special Shout out to our Musical theatre students, we are in great shape heading into tech week, I AM INCREDIBLY PROUD OF YOU, we have a great show on our hands. That being said, please ensure you are taking care of yourself over the next few weeks, which means GOING TO BED EARLY, SAVING YOUR VOICE (no talking for long periods of time and no shouting), EAT HEALTHY FOOD, WASH YOUR HANDS and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. It sounds silly to remind you of these things, but it would be a shame to put in all of this work and then you get sick for our run of performances – so be mindful and make good choices! There are important rehearsals and performances coming so please stay informed and organized for the lead up into our upcoming events!

Musical Theatre tickets are going fast and we are SOLD OUT for both Saturday showsCHORAL Collaboration money and forms WERE DUE LAST WEEK…I am still missing several forms and payments of $7, please get these in by TUESDAY during OUR Choir Rehearsals.

We have a lot of performances coming up, so please gear up and get ready:) Please check upcoming events below:

Nice Work If You Can Get It tickets ARE AVAILABLE NOW from Ms. Kerr or the Reynolds Office. $10 for students and $12 for everyone else! Don’t miss this year’s show. Cheques can be made out to Reynolds Secondary. Thank you to music parent Andrea de Lange for her work on our posters and tickets, you rock!

February 22, Choral Collaboration Event at Belmont Secondary School. This is an event for ALL Choir students, where they learn outstanding music and sing with their peers around Victoria. They will work with Clinicians BRIAN TATE AND ERICA PHARE-BERG and have a full morning of singing and fun! Forms and $7 are due to Ms. Kerr by Tuesday, Feb 18.

MUSICAL THEATRE TECH WEEK:

SUNDAY February 23, Marathon Rehearsal from 12-8:00 with all CAST, BACKSTAGE CREW and PIT BAND, I will provide Pizza and Pop, please bring snacks to share!!
MONDAY FEBRUARY 24 FULL DRESS REHEARSAL FROM 3:25-7:00 – we will need parent Helpers for Hair and Make-up
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 26 FULL DRESS REHEARSAL FROM 2:15(Early Dismissal)-7:00

***Please note that there will be no performance on March 1 for Cedar Hill, we had to cancel due to schedule conflicts***

A lot coming up, please make sure you have these dates in your calendar and that you do NOT miss these important events and rehearsals.

Here is your schedule for this week:

Tuesday, February 18:

 7:30- 8:20AM Junior Choir in the Choir Annex.YOU CAN GET THERE AT 7:30AM BECAUSE I AM FEELING GENEROUS AND MUSICAL IS TIRING:)  We will be working towards our performance at Choral Collaboration at Belmont on February 22. IF YOU FORGOT LAST WEEK, PLEASE bring your forms and $7 labelled and in an envelope.
11:17-12:12 Vocal Jazz working on our new music!
3:25-4:30 Senior Choir  in the Choir Annex, we will be preparing for Choral Collaboration on Feb. 22. I will end by 4:30 in order to give Jazz students time to get ready for their gig this evening:)

Wednesday, February 19:

7:15-8:20 Strings in the Theatre. Please be on time, remember to bring your music and let’s get to work!
3:25-4:30 Junior Choir in the Choir Annex, be on time and ready to work on Choral Collaboration Music. Please Turn in your forms and $ If you forgot, I NEED IT BY TODAY!
3:25-6:00 ALL CREW please come and help with painting and building of the set.

Thursday, February 20:

7:15-8:20 Senior Choir in the Choir Annex. Let’s work on our new music and prepare for Choral Collaboration! Any missing forms and $ MUST BE IN:)
11:17-12:12 Strings in the Theatre, be on time and let’s rehearse our new music!
3:25-5:45 Musical Theatre  I will be calling Scenes for this rehearsal and a few musical numbers that needed some polishing. Please stay tuned for updates for calls on our FB page, I will work on it tonight, but EVERYONE be prepared to be there Thursday after school.
RMPA Meeting at 7pm, please join us!

Friday, February 21: 

1-5:00 ALL CREW CALLED, we will be finishing painting the set and running ALL Scene changes and timing each one. Bring water and snacks, you will be tired! We will also be taping down placements of set pieces and finishing any lighting that needs to be finished. We must be SHOW READY, all hands on deck.

Sunday, February 23:
