Choir/Strings Updates May 13-16

Hello all, I hope you enjoyed a sunny and relaxing weekend. Happy Mother’s Day to all of you fantastic moms out there, including mine! We have a few schedule changes this week in order to accommodate for Marching Band so please ensure you read through these updates and ask myself or Mr. Davis if you are unsure. If you are missing choir or strings, you are still expected to put in practice time this week. Our Concert is a month away and we have lots to prepare for, so please do your part and choose to be exceptional! The Choirs, Strings and Vocal Jazz rehearsals are really starting to come together, I am so proud of how far we have come so far and how far we can go with a little more hard work! Let’s end this year strong!

Strings we have our Orchestra Finale rehearsal THIS Thursday from 3:30-5:00 at Reynolds in the Band Room. Because it is early dismissal I will provide pizza and snacks from 1:30-3:30 OR you can go home and be back for rehearsal at 3:30. All Information for this event can be found here: https://reynoldsmusic.ca/strings-orchestra-finale-may-21-info/

Concert Choir and Chamber Choir: We are having a joint rehearsal Wednesday after school this week in order to make up for rehearsals we will be missing due to Marching Band. Everyone must be in attendance for this rehearsal, we will be working on our music that we are doing as a mass ensemble. I will be showing you the running order for our concert so you know exactly what to prepare and I will hand out award nomination sheets. EVERYONE PLEASE BE THERE ON TIME and ready to work.

Vocal Jazz: I am hoping that we can sing ONE tune for Grade 8 Orientation (this Thursday, May 16) as a representation of our Choral program here at Reynolds. Jazz Band and Drumline will also perform. This is an early dismissal day so my hope is that we can be finished by 2:00. Please wear your Reynolds Wear! You can vote on a tune to sing on Monday after school at our rehearsal.

Here are your updates for the week:
