Hello Reynolds students and families!
I am so excited to welcome our new students and returning students (I missed you SO much) to the Reynolds Music Program this year. For those of you that I have not met yet, my name is Katy Kerr and I am the director of Choirs, Vocal Jazz, Strings and Musical Theatre. We have a thriving music program at Reynolds and I can not wait to get back to safely making music and making connections through music with all of you…we are going to need it more than ever right now.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new reality for our bands, choirs, strings, and jazz ensembles at Reynolds Secondary and timetable all of our courses and ensembles. My thanks goes to my teaching partner, Mr. Davis (director of bands), I couldn’t have done any of this without you – the dream team is BACK!
Mr. Davis and I have put together a cohesive plan for safety and protocols for the ENTIRE MUSIC PROGRAM in one document here:
DOWNLOAD: Reynolds Music Safety Plan DRAFT-2
Please read over the general guidelines and the SPECIFIC ensemble guidelines for the ensembles that you are a part of in order to know when start up times are, when and where your class will be and to read up on what YOU NEED TO BRING in order to be successful.
Also attached below is an extensive schedule for outside of the timetable classes and rehearsals here:
OUTSIDE THE TIMETABLE REHEARSALS WILL BEGIN THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 21st and will be LINEAR (all year) COURSES
Please have a look through the 2 attached documents and note the ZOOM meetings that will clarify any questions you have about any of your music classes. If you are looking for BAND INFO, please check Mr. Davis’ post in LATEST NEWS. For returning students: at this time, there are changes to the structure of the program but they are not insurmountable. We are all in this together and our musical offerings remain vibrant and diverse at Reynolds!
I am so looking forward to seeing you all and making music again this year. If you have any questions please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Take a deep breath (in a mask), be kind and know that we are all here to support you.
All the best,
