Sept 30 Choir/String/Musical Updates

Sept 30 Choir/String/Musical Updates

Hello everyone,

Thank you for a great week of music making and fundraising to support our Cops For Cancer campaign here at Reynolds! Again we have a team of students signed up from the music program that will be dyeing their hair blue nice they reach $2500. The link to donate is here, thank you for your support and to those that have already contributed! Thank you to all the Parents and students that helped with the C4C Bottle Drive on Saturday, we made over $900 to contribute to the cause – well done!
Also a huge thank you to parents and students that came to our uniform distribution days on Friday and Saturday, please know that CHOIR SCARVES, TIES and FOLDERS will be given out in class by me. So if you are on my list as purchased then you will get your uniform piece, if you did not purchase these things this weekend please fill out this form and get payment to me by this week. If you are a returning student you will not need to pay again for your scarf and folder unless serious damage has happened to your garment or you have lost your scarf/tie or folder. CHOIR AND STRING STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING THEIR OWN UNIFORMS OF ALL BLACK DRESS CLOTHES.

The Great Apple Pie Event Fundraiser Info should have gone home this week in Choir classes, see me for more information and check back on this website for volunteer sign ups for making the pies. If you have apple donations, bring them in! Thanks to those who have already brought so many in last week!

BCMEA Honour Ensembles!! You may have noticed my absence this weekend, as I was running the BCMEA Provincial Honour Vocal Jazz Rehearsal this weekend at Belmont Secondary! Bravo to our amazing Reynolds students that have been accepted and working hard for their performance in October – Sarah Terlesky, Alex Andersen and Bella Fedrigo are in the Honour Vocal Jazz group and Millie Del Villano is in the Honour Concert Choir. Thanks to Mr. Davis for coming out and working with my rhythm section as well, we are so proud of each one of you!
Musical Theatre has started up and meeting with the cast and pit band last week was a blast! This is going to be an incredible show and I am so excited to get started. Please ensure that all cast members are in attendance on Monday and Thursday after school this week from 3:25-5:00. Check the times below to see what I have planned so far. Music and scripts and the infamous Musical Contract will be handed out on Monday:)
Vocal JazzOur Senior Vocal Jazz was posted on Thursday on my door, we will meet Monday and Tuesday at lunch starting this week! Please meet in the annex and we will get to work looking at festival and concert tunes! Because we had so many students that auditioned this year, I will be starting up a grade 9 Vocal Jazz in the spring time. I have no room in my teaching schedule to start one during the first half of the year, but I will offer it to those students after Musical Theatre in March – this will be a fantastic group, I am so excited to work with these talented singers! I have lots of solo feature ideas planned!
