In many homes across Victoria right now, Christmas trees are going up. But some of us involved with the Reynolds Music Program are already thinking about what happens to those trees after the seasonal festivities are over.
Yes! It’s time to prepare for our biggest and greenest fundraiser of the year – the Annual Tree Recycling!
The event is happening over two weekends in January 2020: Saturday 5 and Sunday 6; and Saturday 11 and Sunday 12. The action takes place in the McKenzie parking lot. Each day starts at 9:00am and wraps up at 4:00pm.
This is a wonderful fundraiser that can add a healthy dose of cash to students’ music accounts. It’s a great community builder too!
We need lots of student and parent volunteers to make the fundraiser a success. You can sign up for a volunteer shift by clicking this link: https://volunteersignup.org/4CYBQ.
To ensure that as many students as possible have the chance to participate, please limit yourself to one shift only at this time. We’ll open up the chance to take on an additional shift closer to the event, if needed.
On the day of your shift, remember to dress appropriately (warm, sturdy clothing and boots). Bring gardening gloves and a pair of pruning shears if you have them. (Extras will be available, if you don’t.)
Happy Holidays! Happy Tree Recycling!!
